The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between fall riskand functional capacity in older adults attending the CIAM (Comprehensive Care Center for the Elderly) in 2025. A cross-sectional, correlational, descriptive study was conducted using a quantitative method. One hundred and fifty-two older adults from the CIAM Iquitos were studied using simple random sampling. Surveys were administered using the JH Downton Falls Risk Scale and the Barthel Index after obtaining informed consent. 53.9% of participants had moderate functional capacity, 26.3% had mild functional capacity, and 19.7% had severe functional capacity. 75.0% of the older adults showed a high risk of falls, and 25.0% showed a low risk. Analysis of the variables revealed that 47.4% had moderate functional capacity and a high risk of falls, while 17.8% had severe functional capacity and a high risk of falls. To test this, the Chi-square test was performed, yielding (χ² = 28.54; p = 0.000). This indicates that the decline in functional capacity of the elderly is correlated with the risk of falls.application/pdfeshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/Capacidad funcionalRiesgo de caídasAdultos mayoresÍndice de BarthelEscala de DowntonFunctional capacityRisk of fallsOlder adultsBarthel IndexDownton ScaleCapacidad funcional y riesgo de caídas en adultos mayores que acuden al centro integral de atención al adulto mayor, Iquitos 2025Thesishttps://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#3.03.03
