Abstract
El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo determinar la prevalencia de caries dental en niños de 3 a 5 años, que acuden a un establecimiento de salud del MINSA de la ciudad de Iquitos – 2024. El tipo de investigación fue prospectivo; cuantitativo, descriptivo y transversal. El diseño de la investigación fue no experimental La muestra estuvo conformada por 220 niños de 3 a 5 años. Los resultados arrojaron que la prevalencia de caries dental en niños de 3 a 5 años de edad fue del 77,3%, donde la edad de 5 años presentó mayor prevalencia. En relación al sexo, la prevalencia de caries dental en el masculino fue mayor con un 79,6%. Los padres con mayor grado de instrucción presentan menor prevalencia de caries dental en diferencia a los padres que presentan menor grado de instrucción donde la prevalencia de caries dental es mayor. La edad de 18 a 29 años de los padres presentó una mayor prevalencia de caries dental en niños de 3 a 5 años con 79,4%. Se concluye que existe una Alta prevalencia de caries dental en niños de 3 a 5 años.
The objective of this study was to determine the prevalence of dental caries in children aged 3 to 5 years, who attend a MINSA health facility in the city of Iquitos - 2024. The type of research was prospective; quantitative, descriptive and transversal. The research design was non-experimental. The sample was made up of 220 children from 3 to 5 years old. The results showed that the prevalence of dental caries in children from 3 to 5 years of age was 77.3%, where the age of 5 years had the highest prevalence. In relation to sex, the prevalence of dental caries in males was higher at 79.6%. Parents with a higher level of education have a lower prevalence of dental caries in contrast to parents who have a lower level of education where the prevalence of dental caries is higher. Parents aged 18 to 29 years had a higher prevalence of dental caries in children aged 3 to 5 years with 79.4%. It is concluded that there is a high prevalence of dental caries in children from 3 to 5 years old.
