Abstract
The type of research carried out was quantitative, descriptive, observational, correlational, prospective and transversal. The technique used was clinical observation to obtain the CPO-D index and the use of the HANNA Checker HI98103 pH Tester digital peachimeter. The results were that of the adolescents, 74.8% had an acidic salivary pH and 25.2% had a neutral salivary pH. Regarding CPO-D, 14.4% had a very low CPO-D, 10.4% had low, 29.5% had moderate, 27.7% had high and 18% had very high. . Likewise, in adolescents with acidic salivary pH, 23% had a high CPO-D, 21.2% a moderate CPO-D, 15.5% a very high CPO-D, 10.1% a CPO-D very low and 5% a low CPO-D. It is concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between dental caries and salivary pH.
