Conocimiento y actitud de la madre en relación al indice de caries dental de su hijo preescolar en dos instituciones educativas, Iquitos 2023

Abstract

Objetivo Determinar el nivel de conocimiento y actitud de la madre en relación al índice de caries dental de su hijo preescolar en dos instituciones educativas, Iquitos 2023. Metodología La presente investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo no experimental, de diseño observacional, correlacional, transversal y prospectivo; con una muestra por conveniencia constituida por 340 estudiantes preescolares de dos instituciones educativas que cumplieron con los criterios de selección. Resultados Las madres de estudiantes Preescolares de ambas instituciones educativas tuvieron un nivel de conocimiento bueno sobre caries dental con más del 60%; seguido de una actitud adecuada mayor al 90%; sin embargo, los estudiantes preescolares tuvieron un índice CEO-D Bajo 42%. Conclusión No se encontró relación estadística entre el nivel de conocimiento (p=0.749) y actitud (p=0.911) de la madre con el índice CEO-D de su hijo preescolar.

Objective Determine the level of knowledge and attitude of the mother in relation to the dental caries rate of her preschool child in two educational institutions, Iquitos 2023. Methodology The present research was of a non-experimental quantitative type, with an observational, correlational, cross-sectional and prospective design; with a convenience sample consisting of 340 preschool students from two educational institutions that met the selection criteria. Results The mothers of Preschool students from both educational institutions had a good level of knowledge about dental caries with more than 60%; followed by an adequate attitude greater than 90%; however, preschool students had a Low CEO-D index of 42%. Conclusion No statistical relationship was found between the level of knowledge (p=0.749) and attitude (p=0.911) of the mother and the CEO-D index of her preschool child.
