Abstract
tuvieron mejor eficacia que los ejercicios físicos en el dolor(4,42 vs 3,38 ;
Chronic low back pain is a highly prevalent pathology, and its consequences on quality of life are often devastating. Currently, physical therapy is one of the main non-pharmacological therapies for pain relief, these include exercises and physical agents. Objectives: The main objective was to determine the efficacy of physical exercise therapy compared to physical agent therapy on the pain scale and functional limitation. Methods: This was a cross-sectional correlational analytical study, that included 102 patients, of whom 50.98% were treated with physical therapy and 49.02% with physical exercise therapy. Results: The results showed that physical therapy significantly improved chronic low back pain (6.76 vs. 3.89; p<0.001) and in functional limitation (63.16 vs. 35.57; p<0.001). Conclusion: Physical therapy with both physical agents and physical exercises were effective in improving low back pain and functional limitation.
