Abstract
This report describes the factors that determined the design of deep foundations for bridges with large diameter piles, such as the Nanay bridge, Maynas province, Iquitos, 2022, which is part of the first section of the projection of a road initially conceived as a Public Investment "CONSTRUCTION OF THE BELLA VISTA - MAZAN - SALVADOR - EL ESTRECHO HIGHWAY" In this sense, as part of the research design, in order to achieve the objectives, the geological and geotechnical characteristics were listed to consider deep foundations in this project, summarizing the hydrological and hydraulic conditions and subsequently the description and uniqueness of the adopted system, pointing out the advantages of this type of foundation. Within this context, the importance of building with deep foundations stands out. The basic engineering studies, applied to this project, demonstrated that the surface stratum of its location is made up of soft clay with low bearing capacity, however; The intermediate stratum is made up of medium to dense sand and the deep stratum is made up of very hard clay. The maximum scour is 8 m below the course of the extraordinary event, and there is a low seismic threat. These results led to the option of deep foundations with driven piles, for which 180 pipe units and 94 piles were used, divided between the towers and the main anchor pillars.
