Abstract
Las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS) constituyen un problema
relevante en salud pública, afectando tanto la salud física como mental de
los adolescentes, con consecuencias que a menudo son irreversibles e
incluso fatales. El presente estudio se llevó a cabo con el propósito de
examinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre las ITS y las
actitudes preventivas de los adolescentes atendidos en dos Instituciones
Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud (IPRESS) en Loreto, durante el año
2024. Para este análisis, se adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo con un diseño
descriptivo, transversal, prospectivo y correlacional, involucrando una
muestra de 200 adolescentes de entre 14 y 16 años. La recolección de
datos se realizó mediante un cuestionario estructurado y una escala tipo
Likert, ambos sometidos a pruebas de validez y confiabilidad. Los
resultados obtenidos indicaron que el 58.5% de los adolescentes evaluados
presentó un nivel de conocimiento "regular" sobre las ITS, mientras que el
79.5% mostró actitudes favorables hacia la prevención de estas
infecciones. De acuerdo con los análisis estadísticos, se concluyó que
existe una asociación significativa (p=0.037) entre el nivel de conocimiento
y las actitudes preventivas de los adolescentes en las IPRESS de Loreto
durante 2024.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) constitute a relevant public health problem, affecting both the physical and mental health of adolescents, with consequences that are often irreversible and even fatal. Data collection was carried out using a structured questionnaire and a Likert-type scale, both subjected to validity and reliability tests. The results obtained indicated that 58.5% of the adolescents evaluated presented a "regular" level of knowledge about STIs, while 79.5% showed favorable attitudes towards the prevention of these infections.
