Conocimiento y manejo en infecciones respiratorias agudas en madres de niños menores de 5 años, Belén 2020

Abstract

RESUMEN Las infecciones respiratorias agudas siguen ocupando los primeros lugares de las enfermedades que puede llevar a la muerte en la etapa infantil menos de 5 años tanto en América Latina, y en el Perú; en la región de Loreto donde la humedad relativa es más del 80% y nuestra Amazonia que por su condición geográfica se encuentra rodeado de ríos, inundando los poblados y caseríos, en gran parte del año. Objetivo: Determinar el conocimiento y manejo de las infecciones respiratorias agudas en madres de niños menores de cinco años, Belén 2020. Metodología: Tipo, No experimental. Diseño: Cuantitativa – descriptiva –Transversal. Es cuantitativa porque sus instrumentos suelen recoger datos cuantitativos, los cuales incluyen la medición sistemática y se emplea el análisis estadístico como característica resaltante; es descriptiva porque con esta investigación se pretende caracterizar una situación considerando las variables. Además, describirá los hechos como son observados. Transversal, porque se recolectaron datos en un momento dado; es decir, en la actualidad. Resultados: Se pudo determinar el conocimiento bajo en las madres en estudio sobre las infecciones respiratorias agudas, con un 39,6% seguido por un conocimiento medio de 36,3% y finalmente de 24,1% presentaron un conocimiento alto. Respecto al manejo, se encontró: manejo inadecuado con un 60,4% frente a un 39,6% que representa un manejo adecuado. Estos resultados demuestran que las madres que dieron la información, presentan un conocimiento bajo, y por lo tanto realizan un manejo inadecuado de las infecciones respiratorias agudas. El conocimiento no se relaciona con el manejo.

Acute respiratory infections continue to be one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in children under 5 years of age in both Latin Americas, and in Peru, in the Loreto region where the relative humidity is more than 80% and our Amazon that for its geographical condition is surrounded by rivers, flooding the towns and villages, for much of the year. Objective: To determine the knowledge and management of acute respiratory infections in mothers of children under 5 years of age, Belen 2020. Methodology: Type, not experimental. Design: Quantitative - descriptive –Transversal. It is quantitative because its instruments usually collect quantitative data. Which include systematic measurement, and statistical analysis is used as an outstanding characteristic, it is descriptive because with this research it is intended to characterize a situation considering the variables. In addition, it will describe the facts as they are observed. Cross-sectional, because data was collected in a single moment; that is to say, today. Results: Low knowledge in the study mothers about acute respiratory infections could be determined, with 39.6% followed by an average knowledge of 36.3% and finally 24.1 % presented high knowledge. Regarding management, it was found: improper management with 60.4% compared to 39.6% representing adequate management. These results show that the mothers in the study have low knowledge, and therefore perform inadequate management of acute respiratory infections
