Abstract
The present study was aimed at solving the following research problem: What is the value of the concentration of glycosylated hemoglobin with basal glucose in diabetic patients who go to the clinical laboratory of the Hospital Iquitos Essalud III from July to December 2018? The research objective was: To determine the value of the concentration of glycosylated hemoglobin with basal glucose in diabetic patients who go to the clinical laboratory of the Iquitos EsSalud Hospital III from July to December 2018. Material and methods: This research is quantitative and retrospective, with a non-experimental, descriptive design. We worked with a sample of 329 diabetic patients who have requested glycosylated hemoglobin in the clinical laboratory of the Iquitos Essalud Hospital III from July to December 2018. For the analysis of the information, the statistical package of SPSS V.24 was used. Results: A poor metabolic control is observed in the ages of 35 to 44 years (22.19%), in the female sex (35.26%), with urban origin (37.39%) and with a treatment time between the years 0 to 1 years . Conclusions: The glycosylated hemoglobin test is useful as a follow-up and control of diabetic patients, because it gives us a perception of the patient's metabolism during the last 3 months, and is not influenced as basal glucose with diet and lifestyle. from the last days to its determination.
