Abstract
In our research, the physical and mechanical properties of the soils of the La Colina-Tarapoto sector were identified and characterized. Likewise, the modulation of a 4-story building was carried out and considering that San Martín, according to NSR E 030, is located in zone 3 of high seismicity, according to the studies of the Geographical Institute of Peru (IGP), for what the seismic force was calculated, in order to determine the bearing capacity and geometric design of isolated footings in shallow foundations. In our research, the Terzaghi methodology was used and the physical and mechanical properties of the soils were determined, through the use of Peruvian technical standards (NTP) and the RNE's Soil and Foundations standard E 050, with the physical characteristics already determined as the angle of internal friction of the soil, the cohesion, as well as the depth of displacement, the service load of the respectively modulated structure and the seismic force. With these parameters it was possible to determine the bearing capacity or admissible per cut. Applying Terzaghi's theory and good criteria, it was obtained that the admissible load capacity of 1.36 Kg / cmˆ2 and that to obtain this result the following values were determined, depth of 3.00 m and finally to achieve the stability Service load of the structure of 79.33 TN, horizontal force per earthquake of 4 TN, foundation of the structure, a footing width of 2.40 m was determined. Determining the admissible bearing capacity of the soil allows us to carry out the geometric design and size of the surface foundations based on the physical and mechanical characteristics of the soils and the service load of the structure in the urban development La Colina, in the district Tarapoto.
