Abstract
This study was aimed at solving the following research problem: What is the prevalence of the SARS-CoV-2 antigen in patients who attend the laboratory of Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud from January to May 2021? The research objective was: To determine the prevalence of the SARS-CoV2 antigen in patients who attend the laboratory of Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud from January to May 2021. Material and methods: This research is quantitative and retrospective, with a non-experimental, descriptive design. We worked with a sample of 4551 patients who underwent the rapid antigenic test for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2. For the information analysis, the SPSS V.24 statistical package was used. Results: The age with the highest frequency was between 31 to 40 years with 124 (34.64%), the sex with the highest frequency was female with 187 (52.23%) and the lowest frequency was the male with 171 (47.77%), according to origin, a higher frequency was observed with 159 (44.41%) from a marginal urban area. Conclusions: Antigenic tests are useful for timely diagnosis because it shortens the period in the symptomatic phases to the first 5 to 7 days of this, so that it receives timely attention and prevents other infections.
