Abstract
The research "Analysis of waste materials in civil construction works in metropolitan Iquitos - Loreto: control and measurement methods", was carried out in two building works that were executed during the years 2016 and 2017 in Iquitos, Peru. The study, within the framework of the Pareto principle, fundamentally considered the masonry and concrete items, as they were the ones with the greatest incidence in the generation of waste and the greatest influence on budgets; and for its evaluation, it took the average values of the Construction Waste Index estimated by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in which thirteen (13) works were analyzed in a country with more technology and more rigorous quality control. The results of percentages of waste achieved on average oscillate in 0.10m3 of waste for each m2 of roofed area, which shows similar levels of waste for building works, and for the two works they do not exceed the most permissible in the industry and neither is it goes beyond the percentages provided for in the technical files; however, they do contribute to environmental degradation.
