Abstract
The objective of this thesis was to determine the hydrological and hydraulic parameters of the Nanay River through the application of a numerical simulation. The Nanay river is a C5 type river, which has an area of 16706.2 km2, the scour ratio is greater than 21.0, the width/depth ratio is 20.84>2.2, the sinuosity index S=7.86. With a slightly entrenched, relatively sinuous floodplain with a channel slope of 2% or less and a bottom-shaped morphology indicative of a rapid/pool configuration, averaging half a wavelength about 5 -7 full bank channel widths. (Rosgen, 1994). For the measurement of gauging and records of river levels, the Sedaloreto station was used, values that follow a normal distribution, finding an average flow of 2,141.82 m3/s; and, for return periods of 50 and 100 years, these flows are 2,327.64 m3/s, and 2,393.21 m3/s, respectively. The scour depth is approximately 8.0 m. and the level 72.50msnm. The geomorphological parameters and the hydrological modeling were determined using secondary field information and computer tools such as the HEC HMS; and for hydraulic modeling, the HEC RAS was used, using descriptive statistics in both cases.
