Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of the Chema Plast 120D additive on the compressive strength of concrete (cement – sand), incorporating different percentages of the additive (0.40%, 0.70% and 1.00%) in a design with a resistance of 210 kg/cm2 and a water/cement (W/C) ratio of 0.58. 120 samples were made, which were prepared in the soil laboratory of the Scientific University of Peru (UCP) and cured for 28 days, in accordance with technical regulations, and then subjected to compression resistance tests after 3, 7, 14 and 28 days. The results showed that the standard design reached an average resistance of 138 kg/cm2 after 3 days. With 0.40% additive, the resistance was 153 kg/cm2, with 0.70% it was 197 kg/cm2, and with 1.00% it reached 228 kg/cm2 in the 3 days. At 28 days, the design with 0.40% additive achieved a resistance of 277 kg/cm2, the one with 0.70% reached 306 kg/cm2, and the one with 1.00% reached 344 kg/cm2. In addition, an increase in the slump of the concrete will be observed as the percentage of additive increases, being 4.5/8” for 0.40%, 5.1/2” for 0.70% and 6” for 1.00%. The results were positive, since all designs exceeded the resistance of 210 kg/cm2 proposed in the initial design after 28 days. It was concluded that the Chema Plast 120D additive has a significant influence on improving the compressive strength of concrete at early ages, so its use is recommended in the percentages studied (0.40%, 0.70%, 1.00%) for the preparation of concrete (cement-sand) with W/C ratio = 0.58.
