Abstract
A study was conducted to determine if a significant relationship existed between jealousy and psychological violence in adolescent couples in the city of Requena (Loreto) in 2025. This descriptive, correlational study employed a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 120 adolescents who had been in a relationship for more than a year. Data was collected through survey observation, and the instruments used were the Jealousy Questionnaire (CECLA) by Avendaño et al. (2021) and the Psychological Violence in University Couples Scale by Vargas (2019). The statistical analysis of the data obtained was correlation analysis (Spearman's Rho correlation), performed using SPSS version 27 for Windows. Highly significant correlations were found between the various forms of jealousy and psychological violence. These positive and significant correlations between jealousy and psychological violence in adolescents indicate that, as jealousy increases, so does the presence of psychologically abusive behaviors in adolescent relationships. It was concluded that a strong relationship exists between jealousy and psychological violence in adolescents. Jealousy can lead to controlling and abusive behaviors, especially when adolescents lack the tools to manage it healthily. Early emotional education is key to preventing this problem. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations for the case were formulated.
