Prevalencia de hipotiroidismo evaluada mediante perfil tiroideo en pacientes atendidos en el hospital III Iquitos essalud durante el año 2023

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación fue abordar el siguiente problema planteado: ¿Cuál es la prevalencia de hipotiroidismo evaluada mediante perfil tiroideo en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud durante el año 2023? Determinar la prevalencia de hipotiroidismo evaluada mediante perfil tiroideo en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud durante el año 2023. Material y métodos: Este estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, retrospectivo y con un enfoque descriptivo no experimental. Se analizó una Estuvo constituido por 2882 pacientes que solicitaron el perfil hormonal tiroideo en el servicio de Inmunología Especial del Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud durante el período comprendido entre enero y diciembre de 2023. Se utilizó el programa estadístico SPSS versión 25 para el procesamiento y análisis de los datos. Resultados: El 11.97% de los pacientes tuvo hipotiroidismo, más frecuente en mujeres (7.32%), la edad con más casos fue 31 a 40 años (38.84%) y además el 41.16% vivía en zonas urbanas. Conclusiones: La prevalencia de hipotiroidismo fue del 11.97%, con mayor frecuencia en mujeres entre las edades de 31 a 40 años y la mayoría de casos subclínicos, asimismo el acceso a servicios de salud en zonas urbanas influye en su detección temprana, destacando la importancia y la necesidad de estrategias para un diagnóstico y tratamiento oportuno.

The objective of this research was to address the following problem: What is the prevalence of hypothyroidism assessed by thyroid profile in patients treated at Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud during the year 2023? Determine the prevalence of hypothyroidism assessed by thyroid profile in patients treated at Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud during the year 2023. Material and methods: This study is quantitative, retrospective and with a non-experimental descriptive approach. It consisted of 2882 patients who requested the thyroid hormone profile in the Special Immunology service of the Hospital III Iquitos EsSalud during the period between January and December 2023. The statistical program SPSS version 25 was used for data processing and analysis. Results: 11.97% of patients had hypothyroidism, more frequent in women (7.32%), the age with the most cases was 31 to 40 years (38.84%) and in addition 41.16% lived in urban areas. Conclusions: The prevalence of hypothyroidism was 11.97%, with a higher frequency in women between the ages of 31 and 40 years and the majority of subclinical cases. Likewise, access to health services in urban areas influences its early detection, highlighting the importance and need for strategies for timely diagnosis and treatment.
