Abstract
The present study aimed to address the following research question: What is the concentration of Glycated Hemoglobin in patients with diabetes mellitus treated at Servicios Médicos Generales San Juan SRL from January to December 2023? Determine the concentration of Glycated Hemoglobin in patients with diabetes mellitus attended at Servicios Médicos Generales San Juan SRL during the period from January to December 2023. Material and methods: The current study is of quantitative and retrospective nature, with a descriptive non-experimental design. A total of 216 patients who were requested Glycated Hemoglobin at the Medical Services were examined, and for data processing, the statistical software SPSS V.25 was used. Results: The majority exhibited moderate concentrations ranging from 6.6% to 7.5% (31.48%). Hemoglobin A1c requests were primarily concentrated in patients aged 31 to 40 years (44.25%). The most common treatment duration was 2 to 3 years, comprising 35.65% of the total requests. Conclusions: Hemoglobin A1c is a fundamental tool in diabetes management as it provides crucial information about long-term glycemic control, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life and preventing complications in diabetic patients.
